Position Summary:
The Finance and HR Officer will be responsible for managing all financial and human resource aspects of the project “Laying the groundwork for peace and democratization through media innovation, civic partnership, and engagement.” The officer will ensure all financial transactions are compliant with organizational policies and donor requirements, while also overseeing HR operations to ensure smooth team management.

Objective of the Assignment:
To manage the project’s financial operations and human resources, maintain accurate records, and ensure transparent, compliant reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Responsibilities:
- Manage all project-related financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitor the project budget, track expenditures against budget lines, and alert the Project Manager to any discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to the Project Manager and consortium lead.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with organizational policies, Ethiopian laws, and donor guidelines.
- Maintain organized and complete financial documentation, including invoices, receipts, and records.
Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment processes, including job postings, interview coordination, and onboarding.
- Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
- Oversee payroll preparation and staff benefits administration.
- Support performance review processes for project staff.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries and assist in resolving staff-related issues.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a non-profit or development organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and other financial or HR software.
- Knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in financial management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Willingness to live and work in Woldiya, North Wollo.
