About the Job:
Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the position of HR Officer, Talent Acquisition. The position is responsible for implementing workforce planning, managing recruitment and selection processes, and ensuring timely and efficient hiring in line with EHRC’s policies and objectives.
Purpose of the Job:
To support the implementation of workforce planning and ensure recruitment and selection activities are completed efficiently, fairly, and in alignment with the Commission’s strategic goals and HR policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the strategy and plans to attract and acquire competent talent aligned with the Commission’s mission and strategy.
• Support the development of workforce planning tools and processes for managers to plan staffing requirements.
• Participate directly in recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for assigned positions.
• Maintain and update the central recruitment tracker on the status of all ongoing recruitments.
• Communicate proactively with hiring managers, candidates, and relevant teams on recruitment status.
• Provide technical assistance to hiring managers during the selection process, including tools, templates, and assessment preparation.
• Conduct reference and background checks for new hires before job offers are made.
• Ensure all new employees receive proper induction in line with EHRC standards and guidelines.
• Organize and follow up induction programs for new employees and training for existing staff.
• Track performance management activities across departments.
• Analyze recruitment and selection metrics, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements.
• Support the identification of key skills and competencies for critical positions.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
• BA Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
• Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in Human Resource Management.
• Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations.
• Experience working with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) is an added advantage.
• Computer literate with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Amharic and English required; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.
