The Australian Embassy in Ethiopia invites qualified and motivated applicants to apply for the position of Corporate Services Officer (Property and IT). This role is responsible for supporting the Embassy’s property, security, and IT operations in compliance with departmental guidelines and local regulations.

Reports to: Property and Security Manager
Agency: Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
About the Role:
The Corporate Services Officer will assist in managing Embassy properties, IT systems, and security-related operations. The position requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to maintain relationships with various stakeholders and ensure smooth Embassy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and property management for Embassy residences and offices.
- Manage property records, leases, utilities, and updates in databases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, vendors, and partner agencies.
- Oversee procurement of furniture, fittings, and equipment.
- Maintain and update the asset register in line with departmental policies.
- Provide IT system support, including user account management and help requests (LANA role).
- Assist in contingency planning and manage Embassy emergency equipment.
- Monitor local security conditions and support security checks of Embassy facilities.
- Provide back-up support to the Property and Security Manager as needed.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in IT, property management, or administration.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Amharic (additional local languages an advantage).
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, email, databases, and internet).
- Knowledge of Local Area Networking (LAN) preferred.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of local property management practices and issues in Ethiopia.
Desirable:
- Experience with SAP and strong Excel skills.
