About the Organization:
SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is a member of the global SOS Children’s Villages Federation, working since 1974 to support children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care.
Role Summary:
The Project MEAL Officer is responsible for leading Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities. The role ensures data accuracy, promotes learning, and supports evidence-based decision-making to improve project performance and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement MEAL frameworks, indicators, and tools.
- Collect, analyze, and report project data using digital tools (e.g., KoboToolbox).
- Conduct field visits, evaluations, and data verification.
- Establish accountability and feedback mechanisms.
- Document lessons learned and produce reports, dashboards, and case studies.
- Build MEAL capacity among project and field staff.
- Uphold safeguarding and data protection standards during all MEAL activities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in MEAL or similar roles (3 years at project level).
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and digital tools (Excel, SPSS, Power BI).
- Experience in humanitarian or development programs.
- Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Fluency in local language and willingness to travel.
