The organization works to ensure every child grows up with love, respect, and security through family strengthening, education, and community development programs across seven regions in Ethiopia.
About the Role
SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is looking for qualified and motivated professionals to join its talent roster as FSCP Officer, Education. The position focuses on improving children’s access to quality and inclusive education while promoting child protection, participation, and well-being in the community.
The Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring education projects, supporting teachers and school communities, and ensuring that education initiatives meet SOS standards and national education goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor education programs and activities.
- Support schools in creating safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environments.
- Facilitate training sessions for teachers, volunteers, and community members.
- Collaborate with local education authorities and parent-teacher associations (PTAs).
- Conduct regular field visits, collect data, and prepare timely reports.
- Promote child safeguarding and ensure all activities follow SOS policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: BA/BSc in Education, Sociology, Educational Planning, or related fields (MA preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in education program implementation, training facilitation, or community mobilization.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian education policies and experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects.
- Strong communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office; knowledge of SPSS or STATA is an advantage).
