About the Organization

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is a preeminent humanitarian organization in Ethiopia, dedicated to alleviating human suffering and providing essential services to the most vulnerable members of society. Guided by the fundamental principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, including humanity, impartiality, and neutrality, the society plays a critical role in disaster risk management, community health, and developmental support across the nation.

Our work reaches across diverse regions, addressing the urgent needs of communities facing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Through the implementation of projects like the EC2R initiative, ERCS works to build community resilience, improve infrastructure, and ensure that basic services like clean water and sanitation are accessible to those who need them most. We believe that a sustainable future is built on the strength and cooperation of local communities.

We pride ourselves on our professional team, who are driven by a shared vision of service. Job Description and Strategic Impact

The WASH Officer and Project Accountant positions are vital to the successful execution of the EC2R Project. These roles provide the technical and financial oversight necessary to ensure that our humanitarian interventions are both impactful and transparent. By maintaining high standards in engineering and accounting, these professionals ensure that resources are utilized effectively to improve the quality of life for our beneficiaries.

For the WASH Officer, the role involves not just technical planning and implementation of infrastructure, but also community mobilization and hygiene promotion. You will be a key figure in designing sustainable solutions and ensuring that our projects meet the highest safety and quality standards. This is an opportunity to directly influence the health and well-being of the communities in West Arsi, East Hararghe, East Borena, and Guji.

The Project Accountant plays an equally critical role in ensuring financial integrity. By managing budget execution, conducting reconciliations, and preparing transparent financial reports for our donors and partners, you ensure that ERCS maintains its reputation for fiscal responsibility. Your work allows our project teams to operate with the confidence that financial resources are managed with precision and accountability.

These positions offer significant professional growth within a humanitarian context. You will work in a challenging and rewarding environment, collaborating with stakeholders, local authorities, and fellow humanitarian workers. You will develop specialized skills in project management, disaster risk management, and the complexities of donor-funded project administration, making you a vital asset to the organization.

Joining the Ethiopian Red Cross Society means joining a legacy of compassion and excellence. You will find opportunities to sharpen your expertise, engage in impactful field work, and contribute to the long-term strategic success of humanitarian projects. We invite professionals who are committed to our principles to apply and grow their careers with us.
