About the Job
The Assistant Finance Officer supports the Senior Finance Officer in financial documentation, data entry, compliance, and internal control processes. The role ensures timely recording, reviewing, coding, and scanning of financial documents while supporting paymnt processing, petty cash handling, and overall financial integrity in alignment with Save the Children policies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Transactions and Cash Management
- Handle petty cash collection, disbursement, and control according to SCI policies.
- Process payments after proper authorization and verify supporting documents.
- Maintain petty cash records and prepare regular cash count sheets.
- Prepare cash and cheque payment vouchers accurately.
- Process salary payments and certified payrolls.
- Manage utility bill payments and government tax obligations.
2. Documentation, Data Recording and Reporting
- Maintain updated bank and cash records.
- Prepare GLACOSE and General Ledger entries for review.
- Ensure all payment documents are stamped “Paid” and properly filed.
- Scan monthly financial documents into DAS by the 15th of the following month.
3. Advances and Reconciliation
- Track and follow up staff advances.
- Support field-level payments and reconciliations.
- Ensure advance liquidation follows SCI procedures.
4. Compliance and Internal Controls
- Ensure full compliance with SCI and donor financial requirements.
- Assist with internal control checks and document reviews.
- Support audit preparation by ensuring availability and completeness of documents.
5. Additional Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Finance Officer with any financial tasks.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

About You
- BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 0–1 year experience (fresh graduates encouraged).
- Basic understanding of accounting systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage.
