Job Description
The Supply Chain Officer is responsible for organizing and supervising daily supply chain activities at the project or coordination level. This role ensures the optimal running of the mission by overseeing orders, purchases, stock, and freight management according to MSF protocols. The officer monitors supply administration, guarantees the coherence of data in the supply database, and ensures the correct filing of all supply documentation.
Strategic impact is achieved through the standardization of processes, such as implementing order chronograms and conducting market assessments to ensure supply chain stability. The role involves constant communication with customers regarding order status and the analysis of claims to implement corrective actions. Additionally, the officer provides coaching to the supply team and supports the storekeeper in maintaining high standards of stock management and distribution.
Educational Qualification
Essential: A university degree and specialization in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
Work Experience
Essential: Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management and the organization of supply administration.
Desirable: Proven understanding of MSF Field Logistics, including general knowledge of MSF equipment and kits.
Required Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills: Essential computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet usage.
Languages: Essential proficiency in English; knowledge of the local language is desirable.
Core Competencies: High orientation toward results and quality, strong teamwork skills, and behavioral flexibility.
Personal Attributes: Commitment to MSF principles and the ability to manage stress effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Management: Skills in staff supervision, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.

Employment Type and Salary
Employment Type: Full-time.
Contract Length: Until June 30, 2027.
Salary: Starting base salary of USD 1009, payable in Ethiopian Birr (ETB).
Benefits: Medical cover provided as per the organization's policy.
