Job Description

The Storekeeper is responsible for executing stock management activities, including the receipt, storage, and issuance of medical supplies, food items, spare parts, and other logistics materials. This role ensures the overall functioning of MSF activities by maintaining continuous availability of goods through rigorous stock control and monitoring. The position involves detailed administrative tasks such as updating stock cards immediately after every movement and preparing accurate stock reports.

Strategic impact is achieved through the rational use of materials and the meticulous management of cold chain items and sensitive goods. The Storekeeper must monitor store temperatures, follow up on expiry dates, and ensure that all items are well-organized, protected, and easily accessible. This role also includes a security component, managing restricted access to the warehouse and reporting any incidents of loss or damage to the line manager.

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Literacy is required.

• Desirable: Secondary education and warehouse management-related studies are preferred.

Work Experience

• Experience: Previous experience as a storekeeper is considered desirable.

• Desired Background: Experience within a humanitarian or NGO context is beneficial for understanding MSF standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Technical Skills: Essential basic mathematics and the ability to use measuring equipment.

• Languages: Essential proficiency in the local language (Amharic); English proficiency is desirable.

• Computer Literacy: Desirable skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Core Competencies: Results and quality orientation, teamwork, behavioral flexibility, and commitment to MSF principles.

• Specific Skills: Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO principles and quality assurance.

Employment Type and Salary

• Employment Type: Full-time.

• Contract Length: Until June 30, 2027.

• Salary: Starting base salary of USD 520, payable in Ethiopian Birr (ETB).
