Job Description

The Project Officer role is a strategic position within the "Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project" (2026–2030). This initiative, funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs, represents a critical effort to strengthen local civil society organizations. The primary focus is to prevent and respond to harmful practices such as Child, Early, and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Amhara region.

In this role, you will be responsible for the grassroots management and coordination of project activities. Your work will directly impact the lives of vulnerable children and women by ensuring that interventions are implemented effectively and sustainably. You will act as a vital link between the organization, contractual partners, and government stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to ending harmful practices.

A typical day involves coordinating implementation efforts, monitoring progress against approved plans, and preparing detailed reports on project milestones. You will work under the guidance of the Project Coordinator to ensure that all activities remain in line with donor requirements and organizational policies. Beyond the administrative and technical tasks, the Project Officer serves as a champion for safeguarding and gender equality. You will ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People are embedded in every facet of the project’s day-to-day operations. Your contribution is essential to maintaining the high ethical standards that define the organization’s global reputation.
