Job Description

The Project Officer role is a strategic position within the "Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project" (2026–2030). This initiative, funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs, represents a critical effort to strengthen local civil society organizations. The primary focus is to prevent and respond to harmful practices such as Child, Early, and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Amhara region.

In this role, you will be responsible for the grassroots management and coordination of project activities. Your work will directly impact the lives of vulnerable children and women by ensuring that interventions are implemented effectively and sustainably. You will act as a vital link between the organization, contractual partners, and government stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to ending harmful practices.

A typical day involves coordinating implementation efforts, monitoring progress against approved plans, and preparing detailed reports on project milestones. You will work under the guidance of the Project Coordinator to ensure that all activities remain in line with donor requirements and organizational policies. Required Skills and Competencies

Candidates must possess in-depth knowledge of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), harmful traditional practices, and girls' rights. A solid understanding of international child protection principles, SRHR policies, and the NGO Code of Conduct is essential. Strong interpersonal skills are required to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local government sectors and civil society organizations. Applicants should also possess excellent writing skills in English and be proficient in using office software such as Word, Excel, and SAP.
