Job Description
The RMNCH Officer will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of maternal and child health programs within the Integrated RMNCH + PPFP Scale-Up Project.
This role focuses on strengthening reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health services across selected health facilities.
The officer will work under the supervision of the Regional Team Leader and collaborate with health facility staff, district health offices, and other stakeholders.
The position involves providing technical assistance, organizing training programs, and supporting healthcare providers to deliver high-quality health services.
The RMNCH Officer will also support field-level activities, ensuring the effective implementation of program plans and interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and implementing RMNCH program activities in supported health facilities
- Providing technical support and mentorship to healthcare providers
- Organizing training programs to improve clinical skills and service delivery
- Conducting supportive supervision and regular monitoring visits
- Supporting referral networks among healthcare facilities
- Strengthening quality improvement initiatives in maternal and newborn health services
The officer will also assist in documenting lessons learned and sharing best practices with project partners.
This role requires extensive collaboration with healthcare professionals, government institutions, and community stakeholders.
The RMNCH Officer will contribute directly to improving health outcomes for mothers, newborns, and children.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold one of the following academic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health
- Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Or a related health science field
Candidates with a Master’s degree in public health or a related field are highly encouraged to apply.
A strong academic background in maternal and child health will be considered an advantage.
Work Experience
Applicants must have relevant professional experience in health program implementation.
The required experience includes:
- At least 7 years of professional experience for candidates with a bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of professional experience for candidates with a master’s degree
Experience should include work in the following areas:
- Reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health services
- Family planning programs
- Community-based health interventions
- Health system strengthening initiatives
Experience working with regional health bureaus, district health offices, and public health facilities is highly desirable.
Experience in training healthcare providers and facilitating mentorship programs will also be considered an advantage.

Job Location
The position is based in Bahir Dar, Amhara Region, Ethiopia, with frequent travel required across project implementation sites.
The role may require up to 80% travel to support field activities and program monitoring.
Employment Type and Salary
This is a full-time position under the Integrated RMNCH + PPFP Scale-Up Project.
The project runs from December 2024 to November 2028, providing a stable and impactful professional opportunity.
