Job Description
The Shelter Data Clerk will be responsible for supporting effective stock and warehouse management within the Gambela Program Area. The role ensures that food and non-food items are handled in a professional and organized manner in line with organizational policies and contractual requirements.
The post holder will plan, organize, and control stock operations, including ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and securing supplies. This function is critical to ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches beneficiaries efficiently and without delay.
The position involves maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring compliance with store and fixed asset management procedures. Proper documentation and reporting are essential for accountability and transparency.
The Shelter Data Clerk will also monitor stock levels and help prevent shortages or overstocking. By ensuring proper storage conditions and systematic tracking, the role contributes directly to operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Coordinator and other team members to ensure smooth supply chain operations. Collaboration and communication are key components of the role.
This position offers practical exposure to humanitarian logistics and emergency supply chain management. It provides an opportunity to build strong technical skills while contributing to meaningful community impact.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have a BA degree or Diploma in Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or other related disciplines.
Relevant coursework or certification in logistics, procurement, or warehouse management will be considered an advantage.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in a similar or related role, particularly in food distribution projects, is required.
Candidates must have at least two years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, stock control, or related work within an international NGO environment.
Experience in food-related supply management is an added advantage and will strengthen the candidate’s profile.
Experience working in emergency response or humanitarian programs will be beneficial, especially in remote or challenging operational contexts.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of warehouse management and stock control systems is essential.
Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, for reporting and record-keeping purposes.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in documentation are required.
The candidate must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of accountability.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are important for success in this role.
A clear understanding of safeguarding principles and gender equality policies is mandatory. The post holder must uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct and ensure child protection standards are integrated into daily work.

Employment Type and Salary
This is a project-based contract position running until August 2026.
The Shelter Data Clerk will report directly to the Project Coordinator and work within the emergency response team.
