About the Organization

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security. As the food assistance arm of the United Nations, WFP operates in more than 120 countries, delivering emergency food aid and supporting long-term resilience-building programs.

WFP Ethiopia plays a critical role in supporting vulnerable communities affected by drought, displacement, conflict, and economic shocks. Through efficient logistics and supply chain systems, the organization ensures that food assistance reaches millions of people in need.

In 2023, WFP Ethiopia launched an Assurance Project to strengthen internal controls and improve tracking systems. This initiative focuses on ensuring that all food commodities and fleet operations are fully visible and monitored through digital platforms.

As part of this effort, WFP introduced GPS-based tracking for fleet and commercial trucks using the Fleet Finder platform. This position directly contributes to improving transparency, operational efficiency, and accountability in food delivery operations.

WFP is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Qualified women and candidates from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
