This position is focused on the treatment of Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) among children aged 6-59 months and pregnant or lactating women. By supporting the TSFP Nurse at Food Distribution Points, the assistant ensures that life-saving nutritional support reaches those in the West Guji and Guji Zones.
In this role, your “day-in-the-life” impact involves conducting community MUAC screenings, registering beneficiaries, and issuing ration cards. Your work in tracing defaulters through home visits is essential for maintaining high recovery rates and ensuring that no child or mother falls through the cracks of the health system.
Strategically, this position is vital for meeting the SPHERE and FMOH IMAM protocols. By ensuring accurate daily data recording for the Health Management Information System (HMIS) and facilitating immediate SAM referrals, you contribute to achieving program targets: a recovery rate above 75% and a death rate below 3%. This role provides an essential bridge between community-level screening and clinical treatment centers.
This position offers significant career development opportunities within the humanitarian nutrition sector. As you work under the supervision of experienced health coordinators and collaborate with government bodies, you will build deep technical expertise in IYCF-E and IMAM guidelines. This experience is highly valued in the INGO sector and prepares you for advanced roles in public health and emergency response.

By providing technical skills and maintaining organized project documentation, you help ensure the long-term sustainability of project outcomes. Your commitment to accurate measurement and reporting enables evidence-based decision-making and the wider scaling of successful nutrition interventions.
