About the Role:
The Regional Seed System Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the Ethiopia Seed Partnership Plus (ESP+) program in the Somali Region. The role focuses on improving seed systems, strengthening local seed businesses, facilitating B2B networks, and ensuring effective seed insecurity response in shock-prone areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Map and engage key regional stakeholders supporting food security and seed systems.
- Plan, implement, and report program activities in coordination with partners.
- Strengthen local seed businesses and community seed banks.
- Facilitate variety demonstrations, trainings, and joint monitoring events.
- Support gender, diversity, and social inclusion (GEDSI) activities.
- Supervise local partners and ensure program accountability.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Production, Seed Science & Technology, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in humanitarian or development work.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian seed systems and experience working in fragile contexts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in English and Somali language is mandatory.
