Job Summary:
The IYCF Officer will lead infant and young child feeding activities in Gumi Eldallo Woreda, including IYCF counseling, mother-to-mother and father-to-father support groups, cooking demonstrations, and health education. The role involves close collaboration with Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and other sector teams to improve maternal and child nutrition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct IYCF counseling and health education for mothers and caregivers.
- Establish and manage mother-to-mother and father-to-father support groups.
- Facilitate food cooking demonstrations using local ingredients.
- Support and train HEWs on IYCF protocols and growth monitoring.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and ensure data accuracy.
- Work with other teams (WASH, Nutrition, Agriculture) to strengthen program integration.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: BSc in Public Health or Nursing.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in NGOs, including IYCF and MHNT experience.
- Strong technical knowledge in IYCF, counseling, and community mobilization.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and report writing skills.
- Fluency in English and local language preferred.
