Role Purpose
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the Regional Acquisition Manager will play a key role in expanding Safaricom Ethiopia’s customer base and increasing market share within the assigned territory. The role focuses on acquiring new individual, SME, and SoHo customers, driving revenue growth, and executing effective acquisition strategies through partners and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement acquisition and sales strategies to achieve customer and revenue targets. Identify and pursue new acquisition opportunities through cold calling, networking, digital platforms, referrals, and partner channels. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, customers, and partners. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to maintain a competitive edge. Provide regular performance reports and market insights to management. Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer support teams to enhance customer experience and maximize sales opportunities. Mentor and support Trade Acquisition Representatives, providing training and performance guidance. Monitor and optimize acquisition campaigns and sales initiatives. Ensure adherence to TDR journey plans, cluster development, and site utilization. Lead continuous product and offer updates and training for sales teams, TDRs, and Brand Ambassadors. Drive SME and SoHo revenue growth, reduce customer churn, and ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery.
Key Performance Indicators
Daily active agents and site performance. Agent productivity and RGEs. SME acquisition across mobile voice, data, and fixed broadband services. Enterprise and partner Net Promoter Score. Revenue achievement and product penetration. Customer churn below 2%.
Core Competencies and Experience
Strong creativity and innovation skills with the ability to identify new market opportunities. Solid business acumen with a clear understanding of market dynamics, competition, and customer needs. Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. Proficiency in project and program management, including planning, execution, and performance monitoring. Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proven experience in sales and customer acquisition, preferably within the telecommunications sector. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results driven.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in customer acquisition or sales roles is required. Proficiency in using sales tools to track and manage customer interactions is expected. Professional certification in Sales or Marketing is an advantage.
Financial Responsibility
Responsible for achieving acquisition and revenue targets. May manage and optimize acquisition budgets and contribute to pricing strategies and negotiations.
