Job Description
The Junior Operator for Production is a pivotal role designed for energetic fresh graduates looking to start their professional journey in a world-class manufacturing environment. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing specific sections of the production line, ensuring that all beverage products meet the rigorous quality standards BGI Ethiopia is known for. This is a hands-on role that requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to operational efficiency.
The impact of this role is significant, as Junior Operators are the first line of defense in maintaining the integrity of the production process. You will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to monitor machinery, manage flow, and troubleshoot minor technical issues as they arise. Your contribution directly affects the output and reliability of the beverages that reach millions of consumers daily.
Beyond daily tasks, this role offers a unique vantage point to understand the complexities of Large-Scale Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) manufacturing. You will be tasked with maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to strict safety protocols, and ensuring that all production targets are met within the scheduled timeframes. This position is ideal for those who thrive in fast-paced settings and are eager to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world challenges.
Educational Qualification
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution. Eligible fields of study include Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other closely related technical fields. This educational background ensures that the candidate possesses the fundamental scientific and engineering principles required to excel in a high-tech production facility.
Work Experience
This position is specifically designed for fresh graduates and early-career professionals. We are looking for candidates with 0 to 2 years of experience. While previous experience in an FMCG manufacturing shop floor setting is an advantage, it is not a strict requirement for those who demonstrate a high level of coachability and a strong desire to learn the industry from the ground up.
Required Skills and Competencies
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage well under pressure while remaining steadfastly true to the core values of the company. A strong work ethic and a proactive willingness to take on any task are essential traits for this role. We value individuals who are reliable and punctual, as strict adherence to attendance and absenteeism policies is critical for the continuous operation of our production lines.
Excellent communication skills are required to coordinate effectively with team members across different shifts and departments. You should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize your tasks effectively while multitasking. Furthermore, we look for individuals who are open to receiving regular feedback and have the maturity to act upon it to improve their professional performance.
A demonstrated drive for continuous learning and a passion for teaching or sharing best practices with others is highly valued. Basic proficiency in PC skills is mandatory, specifically with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and Email. These skills are necessary for reporting production data and maintaining clear digital communication within the organization.
