About the Role
The Head of Programme Coordination will lead the transformation of the Programme Management Team into a fully functional Programme Coordination Unit (PCU) within PAPS. This role will enhance strategic alignment, strengthen partnerships, and ensure effective programme delivery across governance, peace, and security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Programme Coordination Unit supporting PAPS.
Oversee annual programming and budgeting aligned with AU frameworks.
Coordinate strategic planning, partnership, and resource mobilization efforts.
Supervise initiatives under the AU Peace Fund, including the Crisis Reserve Facility.
Advise leadership on risk management and performance threats.
Foster collaboration with regional and sub-regional organisations.
Mentor and support PCU staff for high-quality programme delivery.
Act as focal point for development partner engagement and change management.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in economics, project management, public policy, or related fields.
Minimum 12 years of experience in programme coordination, planning, or evaluation.
At least 7 years in a managerial role, preferably within governance or peace sectors.
Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to manage complex programmes and drive institutional change.
