About the Organization
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is the constitutionally mandated body responsible for conducting national elections, organizing referendums, and regulating political parties across the country. Established under Proclamation No. 1133/2011, NEBE operates as an independent institution dedicated to the preservation of democratic principles. Its mission is to ensure that every electoral process is executed with the highest degree of transparency, credibility, and fairness, providing a platform for the Ethiopian people to exercise their sovereign right to vote.
As the Board continues to strengthen its institutional capacity, it places a significant emphasis on human resource development and financial accountability. Managing the fiscal aspects of a national election requires a robust financial framework and a team of dedicated professionals who understand the complexities of public financial management. NEBE is not just an administrative body; it is a guardian of civic trust, making every role within the organization vital to the stability and progress of the nation’s democratic journey.
The work culture at NEBE is defined by a commitment to integrity, precision, and public service. Employees work in a high-stakes environment where accountability is paramount. The finance department, in particular, serves as the engine that powers the Board’s operations, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that every transaction adheres to the legal and ethical standards required of a major government institution. It is a place where professional excellence meets national impact.
Collaboration and transparency are the cornerstones of the NEBE team. Professionals from various disciplines work together to navigate the unique challenges of electoral cycles, sharing a common goal of excellence. The organization provides a space where innovation in financial reporting and auditing is encouraged, ensuring that the Board remains a model of efficiency and responsible governance in the Ethiopian public sector.
In pursuit of a truly representative and equitable workplace, the National Election Board of Ethiopia strongly encourages women and individuals from underrepresented groups to apply for these positions. We believe that diversity in our financial team enhances our ability to manage complex budgets and maintain the trust of all stakeholders. NEBE offers a professional environment where merit is celebrated, and where every employee has the opportunity to contribute to a historic mission.
