The United Nations Resident Coordinator System seeks a highly skilled Development Coordination Officer to provide strategic and technical support in conducting rapid economic assessments in crisis contexts. This temporary P4-level position will strengthen inter-agency collaboration and inform policy and programming aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).

About the Role
The Development Coordination Officer will serve as a roving expert, deployed to Resident Coordinator Offices (RCOs) for up to three months at a time, offering surge capacity to crisis-affected countries. The incumbent will partner with RCO Economists to analyze political economies, assess the economic impacts of crises, and support the design of stabilization strategies and financing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Provide economic analysis and strategic guidance to UN teams in crisis settings.
Support the development and coordination of inter-agency programming.
Advise on stabilization and financing options in rapidly changing development contexts.
Coordinate multi-stakeholder collaboration across UN agencies and partners.
Produce analytical reports and scenario planning documents for decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience
Advanced university degree (Master’s) in economics or related field.
At least seven years of progressive experience in sustainable development, economic research, or political economy analysis in crisis contexts.
Proven experience with SDG financing, economic policy analysis, and inter-agency coordination.
Outstanding analytical, communication, and writing skills.
Fluency in English and French (UN Level II proficiency required).
