As part of its ongoing humanitarian response, PAD is implementing a project funded by the Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund (EHF). The project focuses on delivering rapid life-saving assistance through camp coordination and multi-purpose cash support for populations living in high-severity crisis areas in Ethiopia.

To support the effective implementation of this project, PAD is seeking experienced and motivated professionals to join its team as Area Project Coordinators.

Job Description
The Area Project Coordinator will play a critical leadership role in managing and coordinating project activities within the assigned operational areas.

The position focuses on ensuring that project activities are implemented effectively, on schedule, and in accordance with approved project designs, budgets, and humanitarian standards.

The coordinator will work under the guidance of the Project Manager and collaborate with thematic specialists and field teams to ensure smooth project implementation.

A key responsibility of the role is coordinating project activities such as beneficiary targeting, registration, verification, distribution of assistance, and follow-up activities.

The coordinator will oversee the daily implementation of project operations and ensure that all activities align with the project work plan and donor requirements.

Regular field visits will be required to monitor project progress, provide guidance to field teams, and ensure that project activities meet quality standards.

The coordinator will also monitor the use of project resources and ensure that project implementation remains within the allocated budget.

Another important responsibility is reviewing and documenting key project decisions, challenges, and achievements while ensuring proper archiving of project information.

The role also involves coordinating procurement and delivery of materials needed for project activities while ensuring that all supplies meet required quality standards.

The Area Project Coordinator will prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to project management and ensure that reporting requirements for government and donors are fulfilled.

The coordinator will also organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions for project teams, partners, and community representatives.

In addition, the role requires promoting the integration of gender equality, disability inclusion, and other cross-cutting issues across project activities.

Through effective leadership and coordination, the coordinator will ensure that project objectives are achieved and that humanitarian assistance reaches affected communities efficiently.

Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution in one of the following or related fields:

Education
Rural Development
Agricultural Economics
Water Supply Engineering
Soil and Water Engineering
Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
Development Studies
Social Sciences or similar disciplines

A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be considered an advantage.

Educational backgrounds that demonstrate strong analytical, leadership, and development planning skills are highly desirable.

Work Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in development, humanitarian, or project management roles.

Applicants should have proven experience managing or coordinating humanitarian projects.

Experience in sectors such as Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), shelter programs, non-food items (NFI) distribution, or cash assistance programs will be highly valued.

Experience working in conflict-affected areas or emergency response settings is considered a strong advantage.

Candidates who have previously worked with non-governmental organizations will be highly competitive for this position.

Experience leading field teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders will also strengthen an applicant’s profile.

Job Location
The positions are based in the Amhara Regional State with field assignments in the following zones:

North Shewa Zone
North Wollo Zone
Wag Himra Zone
