About the Organization

Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is a prominent Ethiopian non-profit organization established in 2020. Our core mission is centered on meeting the urgent humanitarian and developmental needs of diverse societies. We operate with a steadfast commitment to humanity, ensuring that our support reaches those in need regardless of their race, color, religion, or cultural background. This universal approach allows us to bridge gaps in service delivery and foster peace through sustainable development.

Since our inception, we have rapidly expanded our footprint to address regional challenges. DPO is legally registered as a National NGO in Ethiopia and holds international registrations in South Sudan, Somalia, and Kenya. Our growth is a testament to our effectiveness and the trust we have built with local communities and international partners. We are also currently finalizing our registration in Yemen to further extend our reach to vulnerable populations in conflict-affected areas.

Our organizational culture is built on the pillars of integrity, empathy, and professional excellence. We believe that by empowering local staff and engaging directly with the communities we serve, we can create lasting change. DPO serves as a vital link between resources and the individuals who need them most, striving to build a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive in a peaceful environment.

At DPO, we recognize that our strength lies in our diversity. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace that reflects the varied backgrounds of the people we support. We believe that a diverse team brings a wealth of perspectives that enhance our ability to solve complex humanitarian problems and innovate in the field of social development.

We are particularly dedicated to gender equality and social inclusion. DPO actively encourages women and individuals from underrepresented or marginalized groups to apply for our open positions. We strive to provide a supportive environment where all employees, regardless of their gender or ethnic heritage, have equal opportunities for professional advancement and leadership roles.

Job Description and Strategic Impact

The Case Worker role is a cornerstone of DPO’s humanitarian response strategy. By serving as the primary liaison between disadvantaged individuals and the necessary support systems, Case Workers ensure that no one falls through the cracks. This position is strategically vital because it translates our high-level mission into tangible, life-changing actions for families and children in at-risk environments.

A typical day-in-the-life of a Case Worker involves deep community engagement. You will be responsible for interviewing clients to assess their situational needs and determining the most effective interventions. Whether you are providing counsel to a family in crisis or monitoring visits for fragile children, your work directly impacts the safety and well-being of the most vulnerable members of society.

Beyond immediate service delivery, this role is essential for data-driven advocacy. By filing and maintaining detailed case history reports, you provide the evidence needed to improve our programs and influence broader social policies. You will act as a vital bridge connecting clients to essential health, legal, and financial services, ensuring a holistic approach to their recovery and stability.

Professional growth is a priority at DPO. As a Case Worker, you will receive ongoing training in crisis intervention methodologies and social work best practices. You will have the opportunity to develop sophisticated negotiation and coordination skills, positioning you for future leadership roles within the NGO sector. We view this role as a stepping stone for those looking to make a career out of social transformation.

The impact of this role extends to the very fabric of the communities where we operate. By motivating individuals to participate in rehabilitation and developing action plans to improve well-being, you help rebuild the social capital necessary for regional peace. Your work ensures that the environments where children grow up are safe, healthy, and conducive to a better future.
