Job Description
The Logistics Officer (Maternity Cover) will support the day-to-day implementation of NRC’s logistics, procurement, fleet, and store management functions in Assosa.

This role is essential in ensuring that field operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with NRC policies and procedures.

You will work closely with program and support teams to provide timely and accountable logistics services.

The position contributes directly to effective humanitarian program delivery by ensuring the right resources are available at the right time.

You will also help strengthen systems, improve processes, and support a culture of transparency and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
You will ensure compliance with NRC logistics, procurement, fleet, and warehouse policies.

You will support planning, coordination, and implementation of logistics activities.

You will maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for audits and internal controls.

You will promote accountability, transparency, and proper use of resources.

You will identify operational risks and propose practical improvements.

You will uphold safety, security, and safeguarding standards at all times.

Procurement Duties
You will manage procurement processes including RFQs, ITBs, RFPs, bid analysis, and purchase orders.

You will maintain supplier databases and conduct market assessments.

You will ensure transparent and competitive procurement practices.

You will follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality.

Fleet Management Duties
You will oversee daily fleet operations and vehicle scheduling.

You will monitor logbooks, fuel use, maintenance, and insurance documentation.

You will coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance.

You will promote safe driving practices and support driver supervision.

Store Management Duties
You will receive goods, manage stock documentation, and ensure safe storage.

You will conduct regular stock reconciliations and inventory checks.

You will report any damaged, missing, or obsolete items.

You will submit regular stock balance reports to the logistics team.

Educational Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required.

Work Experience
At least three years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles is required.

Experience in humanitarian or recovery contexts is highly preferred.

Experience working in complex and volatile environments is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies
Fluency in English and Amharic is required; local languages are an advantage.

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

High level of integrity and accountability.

The duty station is Assosa, Ethiopia.

Employment Type and Salary
This is a full-time maternity cover position.
