Job Overview:
Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent aid organisation working with people with disabilities and vulnerable populations affected by poverty, conflict, and disaster. In East Africa, HI implements programs in rehabilitation, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), inclusive education, protection, food security, and humanitarian mine action.

The Regional MEAL Manager is a newly created position responsible for leading the MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) and Information Management (IM) teams across East Africa. This role ensures the quality, coherence, and strategic alignment of programs and strengthens capacity, emergency preparedness, and accountability systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage MEAL and IM teams, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Define and implement regional MEAL strategies, action plans, and operational monitoring tools.
  • Design and monitor MEAL and IM systems, ensuring compliance with HI standards.
  • Support project design, implementation, quality control, and evaluation.
  • Ensure participatory and accountable approaches to populations served.
  • Represent HI’s MEAL expertise in regional networks and advocacy forums.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and adapt team priorities to ensure rapid response.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in MEAL, information management, or related fields.
  • Strong team management, capacity building, training, and coaching experience.
  • Expertise in project evaluation, results and indicators monitoring, and data management.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative surveys, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills; conflict management skills.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a strong asset.

Benefits:

  • 24-month international contract starting 1st April 2026, based in East Africa.
  • Local package applies for residents of Ethiopia, Uganda, or Kenya.
  • Salary from €2,860 gross/month (depending on experience).
  • Per diem: €489 net/month (Ethiopia), €645 net/month (Uganda), €606 net/month (Kenya).
  • Hardship allowance: €250 net/month in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa).
  • Medical coverage (50% employee contribution), pension scheme, unemployment insurance (EU nationals), repatriation insurance.
  • Paid leave: 25 days/year; R&R: 5 days/3 months (Ethiopia), 11 days/year (Uganda/Kenya).
  • Housing provided by HI.
