case Worker
The Case Worker provides direct support to women, men, and children affected by gender-based violence and other protection concerns in a humanitarian context. The position holder is responsible for implementing GBV case management services and ensuring survivors and at-risk individuals receive timely, confidential, and survivor-centered support.

Working at woreda and kebele-level field locations, the Case Worker collaborates with community structures, local partners, and government service providers to identify, assess, refer, and follow up on GBV and protection cases. Responsibilities include providing psychosocial first aid, facilitating referrals to medical, legal, and psychosocial services, and ensuring safe case closure. The role contributes to awareness-raising, prevention activities, and strengthening community-based protection mechanisms. All work aligns with national GBV and child protection case management frameworks and ChildFund’s safeguarding policies.

Job Responsibilities

Case Management
Identify and register individuals at risk or survivors of GBV and other protection concerns.
Conduct assessments and develop individual case management plans with clients.
Provide psychosocial first aid and facilitate referrals to appropriate services.
Ensure services are age-appropriate, confidential, and survivor-centered.
Conduct follow-ups to monitor service delivery and progress.
Maintain confidential and accurate case files.
Organize case conferences for complex cases.

Community Outreach and Awareness
Work with community volunteers and leaders to raise GBV prevention awareness.
Facilitate sessions on gender equality, positive social norms, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
Strengthen community protection structures and referral pathways.

Coordination and Networking
Coordinate with local service providers including health facilities, police, justice offices, and women and children affairs offices.
Participate in local GBV and protection coordination meetings.
Update service mapping at woreda and kebele levels.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
Maintain case records and update management tools.
Submit weekly and monthly reports to the supervisor.
Contribute to data collection and case reviews.

Safeguarding and Ethical Conduct
Follow ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct, and PSEA standards.
Promote confidentiality, safety, and dignity in all interactions.
Report safeguarding concerns promptly according to protocol.

Job Requirements

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or related fields.
