Job Description
The Consortium Manager will lead a multi-partner project aimed at strengthening resilience and promoting social cohesion among populations affected by displacement due to the Sudan conflict. The project spans across Benishangul Gumuz in Ethiopia and Gedaref in Sudan, making it a dynamic and cross-border initiative.
This role is central to ensuring that the consortium operates with a unified vision, delivering high-quality results while adapting to complex and evolving humanitarian contexts. The Consortium Manager will oversee strategy, implementation, coordination, and performance management across all project components.
The position involves leading the Consortium Management Unit and ensuring that all partners align with agreed objectives, timelines, and quality standards. It also requires maintaining strong communication with the Steering Committee and ensuring that decisions are effectively translated into action.

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing overall leadership and strategic direction for the consortium project

- Serving as secretary to the Steering Committee and facilitating engagement

- Ensuring safety and security measures are implemented and adapted as needed
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a degree in one of the following fields:
- Political Science
- International Development
- Social Work
- Humanitarian Law
- Migration Studies
- Or a closely related discipline
This academic background supports the strategic and analytical demands of the role and enables effective engagement with complex humanitarian systems.
Work Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of seven years of experience in international humanitarian or development work.
At least three years of experience in people management is required, demonstrating the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
Candidates should have proven experience managing large, multi-location programs in complex environments, preferably involving multiple partners.
Experience in areas such as resilience programming, peacebuilding, protection, health and nutrition, or gender-focused initiatives is highly desirable.
Strong experience in project management, including budgeting, financial forecasting, and risk management, is essential for success in this role.

Job Location
The position is based in Assosa, Ethiopia or Gedaref, Sudan.
This is a non-accompanied role, requiring flexibility and willingness to work in challenging environments. The location provides valuable exposure to cross-border humanitarian operations and high-level program management.
Employment Type and Salary
This is a full-time position offered under either a national or expatriate contract.
The contract duration is 1 year and 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
The role is classified under Band F1 – Management level.
