Job Description
The Environmental Health Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the implementation of water, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) activities within the Korem project.
The position works closely with the Environmental Health Manager to ensure that all interventions meet MSF standards and contribute to improved living and health conditions.
The supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily environmental health activities, including water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure, waste management, and vector control.
The role ensures that hygiene and sanitation practices are effectively implemented in healthcare settings and surrounding communities.
Supervising teams and ensuring adherence to protocols is a key part of maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
The position also involves monitoring and maintaining equipment to ensure continuous functionality of WASH systems.
The supervisor plays a hands-on role in managing water systems, including treatment processes such as chlorination and ensuring water quality and availability.
Waste management is another major responsibility, requiring proper segregation, handling, and disposal of healthcare waste to maintain safety standards.
The role includes supervising infrastructure projects such as construction and rehabilitation of sanitation facilities in collaboration with logistics teams.
