Job Overview
World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a Zonal Food Distribution Coordinator to lead food assistance programs, including commodity management, warehouse oversight, food distribution, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination in line with donor requirements and World Vision standards.
Education
BA/BSc or MA/MSc in Food Science, Agricultural Economics, Disaster Management, Rural Development, or related fields
Experience
Minimum 5 years relevant experience
At least 3 years in food aid / food assistance programs
Experience in commodity management, logistics, warehousing, distribution, monitoring, and reporting
Language
Amharic & English required
Somali / local language knowledge is an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Lead community engagement and inclusive participation activities
- Supervise commodity management, warehouse operations, and food distribution
- Monitor program performance and compliance with donor and World Vision standards
- Conduct reporting, budgeting, and financial monitoring
- Lead and mentor staff in commodities and distribution
- Coordinate with local government, partners, and other World Vision programs
- Ensure humanitarian accountability and adherence to safeguarding policies
Requirements
- Valid National or Local ID required
- Ability to work in high-pressure, high-risk environments
- Knowledge of humanitarian standards (SPHERE, HAP, Red Cross Code of Conduct)
- Background suitable for working with children and vulnerable adults
