Role Purpose
The Specialist – Business Intelligence Development and Operation is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that transform data into actionable insights. The role supports decision-making through robust analytics, reporting, and visualization while enhancing the organization’s BI systems and data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI. Analyze data and present insights through reports that support strategic and operational decision-making. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and define delivery timelines. Develop relationships between datasets and create tabular and multidimensional data models. Document data models, algorithms, parameters, and calculations. Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform advanced analytics. Create and optimize DAX queries and functions. Analyze existing ETL processes and design improved data integration solutions. Support data warehouse development using SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS. Enhance and optimize existing BI systems through technical and strategic improvements. Develop customized visualizations and calculations to meet business requirements.
Core Competencies and Experience
Proven experience as a Power BI specialist, preferably within a complex or enterprise environment. Strong background in data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and data mining. In-depth understanding of database management systems, OLAP concepts, and ETL frameworks. Hands-on experience with BI technologies such as Microsoft Power BI and SSAS. Strong knowledge of SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Demonstrated ability to take initiative, innovate, and solve complex analytical problems. Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in business intelligence development and operations. Industry experience is an advantage. Strong technical expertise in BI tools, data modeling, and analytics.
