Job Summary:
The Site Engineer (Scaffolding) is responsible for ensuring all temporary access structures are safely designed, compliant, and functional. The role involves managing the design, installation, and dismantling of scaffolding systems while maintaining safety and structural integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently design, calculate, and develop scaffolding and formwork systems for projects.
- Ensure all materials, quality standards, and safety regulations are strictly followed.
- Work closely with scaffolding subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct risk analysis and manage work permits.
- Provide regular progress reports to Project and Operations Managers.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to scaffolding works.
- Create various platforms from simple scaffolding to complex structures.
- Supervise dismantling after project completion.
- Identify hazards, defects, and repair needs to ensure safety and compliance.
- Execute tasks within agreed timeframes and project requirements.
- Contribute to effective teamwork and project coordination.
- Adhere to organizational policies and safety standards.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in scaffolding-related construction projects.
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of scaffolding and formwork design and installation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Willingness to work across various project sites in Ethiopia.
