ATI is a government institute working to transform Ethiopia’s agriculture sector by improving productivity, resilience, and livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
Job Overview
The role focuses on managing and providing technical leadership in irrigation agronomy, natural resource management, and climate-smart agriculture within HDP nexus projects, supporting pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities.

Key Responsibilities
Manage and provide technical oversight for irrigation agronomy, NRM, and climate-smart agriculture activities across the project cycle.
Guide selection of crops, irrigation systems, and water-saving technologies suitable for local conditions.
Support capacity building, training, and technical assistance for staff and partners.
Lead proposal development, technical reporting, learning, and documentation of best practices.
Coordinate with stakeholders, donors, regional offices, and partners to ensure effective implementation.
Ensure monitoring, evaluation, and efficient use of project resources.
Education
Master’s degree in Irrigation Agronomy, Agronomy, Plant Science, or related field.
Experience
At least 8 years of directly relevant professional experience.
Skills & Competencies
Strong project management, strategic thinking, stakeholder coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with pastoralist, agro-pastoralist, IDPs/refugees, and humanitarian or development partners.
Proficiency in English, Somali, and Amharic.
Computer proficiency; project management certification is an advantage.
