Job Description and Strategic Impact

These roles are critical to the success of our multi-sectoral strategy in Ethiopia. Whether you are providing technical oversight to health facilities, strengthening accountability through monitoring systems, or managing the complex logistics of food aid, your work contributes to evidence-based decision-making and high-quality humanitarian programming.

The General Food Distribution (GFD) Officer (based in Shire) oversees the entire lifecycle of food assistance, from commodity receipt and warehouse storage to final distribution. By supervising registration and ensuring accurate tracking via stack cards and ledgers, you guarantee that life-saving food reaches the most vulnerable households while maintaining strict donor compliance and accountability.

The Public Health Care (PHC) Support Officer (Asayita and Addis Ababa) focuses on strengthening service delivery through supportive supervision and coordination of resources. By ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) standards and Ethiopian Government protocols, you help maintain the quality and safety of healthcare for vulnerable communities.

The M&E/Accountability Officer (Addis Ababa) is responsible for implementing MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) systems. By managing data quality, conducting surveys, and handling Feedback and Response Mechanisms (FRM), you ensure that our programs remain transparent and accountable to the communities we serve.

The Nutrition Officer (Asayita) lead the care and treatment of children under five and pregnant/lactating women. By managing Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and supporting Mother-to-Mother Support Groups (IYCF), you directly improve the nutritional status and health outcomes of IDP and host communities in resource-poor areas.

Job Positions and Requirements
  1. General Food Distribution (GFD) Officer

    • Educational Qualification: BA degree in Nutrition, Development Studies, Economics, or related field. Accounting background with cash handling experience is required.

    • Work Experience: 3–4 years of related work experience in food aid or logistics.

    • Job Location: Shire.

  2. Public Health Care (PHC) Support Officer

    • Educational Qualification: BSC Degree in Public Health, Health Science, or related field. Updated professional practice license is required.

    • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in low-resource settings.

    • Job Locations: Addis Ababa and Asayita.

  3. M&E/Accountability Officer

    • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, or Project Management.

    • Work Experience: 3–4 years of relevant experience; data entry experience with an INGO is preferred.

    • Job Location: Addis Ababa.

  4. Nutrition Officer

    • Educational Qualification: BSC in Nursing, Nutrition, or Public Health. Renewed professional working license is mandatory.

    • Work Experience: 2 years in a hospital or clinic setting, preferably with experience in nutrition management.

    • Job Location: Asayita.
