Job Description
The RMNCH Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of maternal and child health programs under the Integrated RMNCH + PPFP Scale-Up Project.
The role involves managing and coordinating project activities in health facilities with high patient volumes.
The officer will work under the supervision of the Regional Team Leader and collaborate closely with healthcare providers and local health authorities.
The position focuses on strengthening service readiness, improving healthcare provider capacity, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
The RMNCH Officer will organize and facilitate training programs, mentorship sessions, and supervision visits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing RMNCH program activities in assigned regions
- Providing technical assistance to healthcare providers and health facilities
- Organizing training and mentorship programs to enhance service quality
- Monitoring program progress and ensuring timely execution of activities
- Supporting referral systems to ensure continuity of care
- Strengthening collaboration between health facilities and stakeholders
The officer will also contribute to improving quality assurance systems within public health facilities.
This role plays a vital part in enhancing healthcare delivery and improving outcomes for mothers, newborns, and children.
It is both a technical and coordination-focused position that requires strong field engagement.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a degree in a relevant health field.
Accepted qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health
- Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Or a related health discipline
Candidates with a Master’s degree in public health or similar fields are highly encouraged to apply.
A strong academic background in maternal and child health will be considered an advantage.
Work Experience
Candidates must have substantial professional experience in health program implementation.
Required experience includes:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience for bachelor’s degree holders
- Minimum of 5 years of experience for master’s degree holders
Experience should cover areas such as:
- Maternal and child health services
- Family planning and reproductive health programs
- Community health interventions
- Health system strengthening
Experience working with public health facilities, district health offices, and regional health systems is highly desirable.
Experience in training and mentoring healthcare providers is also important for this role.

Job Location
The position is based in Jinka, Ethiopia.
The role requires frequent travel, up to 80%, to support field-level program implementation.
