UNDP Ethiopia is seeking a Reintegration Coordination Specialist to lead reintegration planning, implementation, and monitoring across Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Afar, and Benishangul-Gumuz. The role ensures that reintegration strategies are aligned with national frameworks and adapted to regional contexts. The Specialist will coordinate with UN agencies, regional authorities, civil society, and development partners to deliver inclusive and accountable reintegration services supporting Ethiopia’s DDR programme. The position supports policy development, regional action plans, stakeholder coordination, service mapping, referral mechanisms, capacity building, and monitoring and reporting. The role is anchored in the Governance Unit and works closely with national and regional partners.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and policy support for regional reintegration strategies.
Align national frameworks with regional needs and operational capacities.
Develop gender- and age-responsive action plans guided by conflict-sensitive principles.
Convene and coordinate platforms with UN agencies, authorities, and civil society.
Ensure integrated planning and information-sharing across reintegration partners.
Map services, identify gaps, and coordinate region-specific reintegration interventions.
Support referral systems and needs-based service delivery.
Utilize the DREAM platform for tracking and coordinated allocation.
Lead capacity assessments and strengthen regional institutions.
Organize training, peer learning, and collaborative sessions.
Coordinate joint monitoring, reviews, and after-action assessments.
Prepare regional reports and contribute to national DDR reporting.
Document lessons learned and emerging challenges for adaptive programming.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or 7 years with a bachelor’s degree.
Experience in livelihoods, DDR, community-based reintegration, or poverty reduction.
Knowledge of post-conflict settings, socio-economic and community development in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa.
Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder initiatives and working with international organizations.
Strong background in project coordination and results-based reporting.
Experience with UNDP or international development agencies is an asset.
Education
Master’s degree in Social or Political Sciences, International Development, Conflict Resolution, Peacebuilding, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree with additional experience is accepted.

Ability to manage multi-agency partnerships and integrated planning.
Excellent communication, reporting, and facilitation skills.
Ability to lead capacity development and institutional strengthening.
Understanding of livelihoods, MHPSS, protection, and community reintegration systems.
Languages
Fluency in English and the national language is required.
