Job Description
The Registrar will manage human rights complaints, ensuring effective record-keeping, case processing, and communication with complainants. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ruling on admissibility and presiding over proceedings where appropriate.
  • Managing an online/manual interactive case management system.
  • Compiling, verifying, and disseminating complaint-related data.
  • Providing information, assistance, and referrals to individuals lodging complaints.
  • Working with case managers to issue summons and decisions.
  • Reviewing systems, policies, guidelines, and manuals, and recommending improvements.
  • Aggregating data on compliance handling, response time, and thematic areas.

Educational Qualification

  • MA or BA degree in Law, LLM, Human Rights Law, or International Law.

Work Experience

  • BA degree: 6 years of relevant experience.
  • MA degree: 4 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Computer literate.
  • Fluent in Amharic; knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, communication, attention to detail, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Bahir-Dar City Office, Ethiopia.

Employment Type and Salary

  • Open contract / indefinite period.
  • Monthly salary: 29,910 – 34,624 ETB.
  • House allowance: 12,100 ETB.
  • Transport allowance: 4,000 ETB.
