Job Overview:
Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organisation working in situations of poverty, exclusion, conflict, and disaster. The organisation supports people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, providing essential services, improving living conditions, and promoting human dignity and inclusion. HI operates across East Africa with a focus on physical and functional rehabilitation, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), inclusive education, protection, food security, and humanitarian mine action.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
- Lead sector strategy and contribute to regional and global strategic thinking.
- Provide technical guidance to projects in line with global standards and frameworks.
- Conduct technical quality control, monitoring, and coaching for field teams.
- Promote cross-cutting approaches, including disability, gender, age, and conflict sensitivity.
Business Development:
- Monitor regional dynamics and identify opportunities for collaboration.
- Develop strategic partnerships with local, national, and international organisations.
- Support the development and drafting of new project proposals.
- Represent HI in regional forums and strengthen technical visibility.
Knowledge Management & Lessons Learned:
- Coordinate knowledge management, document field experiences, and promote research and innovation.
- Lead learning workshops and participate in global communities of practice.
- Conduct training needs assessments and support capacity building for technical and non-technical staff.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in rehabilitation, humanitarian, or development sectors.
- Strong experience in strategy, project management, and technical team support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills suitable for high-level representation.
- Ability to develop public relations and represent HI to donors, networks, ministries, and other stakeholders.
