Job Description
The Reconciliation Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the Bank’s financial records. This position supports strong financial governance and contributes directly to the Bank’s stability and reputation.

The role involves managing daily accounting and reconciliation activities while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. The officer will also support management by providing timely and accurate financial reports.

The Reconciliation Officer will collaborate with internal teams, auditors, and regulatory bodies to maintain transparent and accountable financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documents.
  • Ensure proper bookkeeping, taxation, and inventory control.
  • Process outward and inward RTGS transactions.
  • Follow up on incoming cheques at the National Bank of Ethiopia.
  • Prepare regular reconciliation reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Clear suspense accounts in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate external audits and prepare required financial documents.
  • Open and manage General Ledger and subsidiary accounts.
  • Consolidate income, expense, and balance sheet reports.
  • Record and depreciate fixed assets according to government regulations.
  • Prepare periodic operational and financial activity reports.

Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or other business-related fields from a recognized institution.

This academic background ensures a strong foundation in financial principles, reporting, and business operations.

Work Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of four years of banking experience.

At least two of these years must be in a role related to junior accounts and reconciliation.

This experience ensures the candidate is capable of handling complex financial records and regulatory requirements.
