About the Role:
FHI 360 is seeking a Protection Team Leader to oversee GBV prevention and response activities under the ISH-E III project in Somali (Liben and Afder) and Oromia (Negele Borena) regions. The role focuses on program implementation, capacity development, coordination, and mentoring staff to ensure quality protection services for vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day protection activities and coordinate with the Protection Coordinator.
- Conduct assessments, analyze GBV trends, and inform program design.
- Strengthen case management and referral systems; develop prevention and awareness strategies.
- Organize trainings for staff and healthcare providers on GBV prevention, case management, and related areas.
- Coordinate with NGOs, UN agencies, and stakeholders to enhance survivor support.
- Participate in protection/GBV working groups and inter-agency initiatives.
- Assist in staff selection, training, mentoring, and workflow management.
- Develop work, spending, and procurement plans in line with financial pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BA degree in Gender, Psychology, Law, Social Work, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6+ years’ experience in leading GBV or gender-focused projects in emergencies.
- Experience with internally displaced and conflict-affected communities in Ethiopia.
- Prior NGO/INGO experience required.
- Strong supervisory, communication, report writing, and computer skills (MS Office, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom).
- Fluent in English and local languages.
- Ability to travel 50% to field intervention areas.
