Job Description
The Protection Officer – PCM Supervisor will oversee and implement general protection case management (PCM) activities in line with international standards and DRC guidelines.
This role ensures that vulnerable individuals and families receive safe, ethical, and high-quality case management services.
The officer will supervise PCM case workers and support them through the full case management cycle, including identification, assessment, planning, intervention, follow-up, and case closure.
The position works under the supervision of the Protection Team Leader and in close coordination with the Protection Manager and PCM Specialists.
The role includes leading case conferences, technical reviews, team meetings, trainings, and workshops to strengthen service quality.
The officer will coordinate with community structures, local authorities, and partner organizations to ensure integrated and effective protection responses.
The role contributes directly to strengthening protection systems and improving the well-being and safety of affected communities.
This position offers strong professional growth through leadership, technical learning, and exposure to multi-agency coordination.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold a university degree in Social Work, Social Science, Law, or another relevant field from a recognized institution.
Continuous professional development and learning in protection and case management are highly valued.
Work Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in PCM, Child Protection (CP), or GBV case management supervision.
Experience working in humanitarian project locations is strongly preferred.
Direct experience in implementing protection case management activities is required.
Previous engagement in community consultations, assessments, trainings, or awareness sessions is an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong technical understanding of protection principles, PCM prevention and response strategies, and ethical data protection.
Ability to identify and respond to the needs of vulnerable individuals using age, gender, and diversity analysis.
Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership abilities.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Kobo and other data tools is desirable.
Fluency in English and Tigrigna, with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Job Location
The duty station is Sheraro, Tigray Region, Ethiopia.
The role requires close engagement with communities and local partners in and around the area.
Employment Type and Salary
This is a National Contract position with a contract duration up to July 31, 2026.
The position is full-time and classified as Band H2 (Non-Management).
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment for National Employees.
The start date is as soon as possible.
