About the Role:
FHI 360 is seeking a Protection Officer to lead day-to-day protection activities in Tigray. The role focuses on GBV prevention and response, community engagement, case management, psychosocial support, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure protection services for vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sector needs assessments and provide technical guidance for emergency protection activities.
  • Oversee delivery of quality protection services, including case management, health, psychosocial support, legal assistance, and referrals.
  • Build partnerships with local service providers, implementing partners, and government entities.
  • Represent FHI 360 in protection coordination forums, including GBV and protection clusters.
  • Support procurement, logistics, and operations to ensure timely delivery of assistance.
  • Coordinate community-based GBV prevention and response activities, including awareness and training.
  • Work with MEAL teams to design indicators and assess progress of protection interventions.
  • Manage and mentor Protection Assistants and GBV Social Service Workers.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, Social Work, Gender Studies, Sociology, Law, Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 2+ years’ experience in GBV protection, counseling, or gender integration at national or international level.
  • Experience with women’s rights, gender equality, safeguarding, and accountability.
  • Fluent in local language and English.
