Project Activities

  • Facilitate a three-month apprenticeship training for 200 beneficiaries in hotel/tourism and construction industries
  • Coordinate a one-month industrial attachment for 50 TVET trainers from Addis Ababa, Somali, and Amhara regions
  • Train TVET instructors and in-company trainers on apprenticeship supervision, gender-sensitive training, and logbook use
  • Establish monitoring and evaluation systems to track apprentice progress, document success stories, and support future scaling

Job Summary

  • Ensure apprenticeship programs are inclusive, safe, gender-responsive, and protective of refugees, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Integrate gender equality, disability inclusion, and safeguarding principles across all project activities
  • Support gender and protection-sensitive beneficiary selection and placements
  • Train TVET instructors and in-company supervisors on gender-sensitive supervision, inclusion, and PSEA
  • Monitor apprenticeship sites for compliance with protection and non-discrimination standards
  • Establish referral and feedback mechanisms for apprentices facing protection concerns
  • Contribute to reporting and documentation of gender and protection outcomes
  • Ensure participation of women, refugees, and persons with disabilities
  • Oversee observance of ILO and CHADET’s protection policies and ‘Do No Harm’ principles
  • Coordinate action on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) and referral pathways

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in gender equality, protection, safeguarding, or social inclusion programming, preferably in TVET, livelihoods, refugee, or labor-market interventions
  • Strong knowledge of gender-transformative approaches, disability inclusion, refugee protection frameworks, and safeguarding standards including PSEA
