Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational management for the BRAVE / Mullata Keenya – Our Vision Project implemented in West Hararghe Zone, Oromia Region.
Job Summary
The Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of a gender-transformative and inclusive SRHR project across Gumbi Bordode, Mieso, Chiro Zuria, and Guba Qoricha Woredas. The role requires strong leadership, partnership management, and technical expertise in SRHR, gender equality, disability inclusion, and youth engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure timely and high-quality project implementation.
• Develop and oversee project work plans, budgets, M&E frameworks, and reporting schedules.
• Manage integrated SRHR interventions, including CSE, Champions of Change, disability inclusion, climate resilience, and advocacy.
• Lead and coordinate the FGAE project team and strengthen collaboration with EWDNA and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government institutions, CSOs, CBOs, OPDs, and community structures.
• Ensure meaningful participation of adolescents and youth, including those with disabilities.
• Oversee gender-transformative and disability-inclusive approaches, social norms analysis, and community dialogues.
• Support MEAL systems and promote data-driven adaptive management.
• Prepare and submit high-quality narrative and financial reports to donors.
• Facilitate regular project review meetings and coordination forums.
• Document and disseminate achievements, lessons learned, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, PSEAH, and environmental policies.
• Represent FGAE in relevant coordination platforms and technical working groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• MPH/MSc/MA/BSc/BA in Public Health, Demography, Health Economics, Sociology, Population Studies, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience for MA/MSc holders or 7 years for BA holders in relevant roles.
• Progressive experience managing donor-funded programs or projects in CSOs or the public health sector.
Skills and Competencies
• Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, teamwork, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• High computer literacy and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong commitment to FGAE’s mission and pro-choice values.
Language and Contextual Requirements
• Proficiency in Afan Oromo and English; sign language is an asset.
• Familiarity with West Hararghe Zone or similar contexts is desirable.
