Overview
International Rescue Committee (IRC) is recruiting a Project Manager – Education to lead the implementation of community-based and home-based learning programs under the Playful Education Pathways in Ethiopia (PEPE) initiative. The role focuses on supporting alternative learning pathways for out-of-school children in conflict-affected regions, with strong coordination, operational leadership, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day project implementation to ensure activities meet approved plans, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Coordinate closely with implementing partners, local education offices, and community stakeholders to ensure inclusive and child-centered learning delivery. Oversee budget planning and expenditure tracking in alignment with donor and IRC requirements. Lead partner coordination, community engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. Monitor progress against indicators in collaboration with RMEAL teams and use data for adaptive programming. Support crisis modifier activation to maintain learning continuity during emergencies. Ensure compliance with safeguarding, donor, and IRC policies and prepare high-quality narrative and progress reports.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, or related field. At least four years of experience managing education or Education in Emergencies programs in humanitarian contexts. Minimum three years of experience working with alternative learning pathways for out-of-school children. Strong experience in project implementation, monitoring, evaluation, staff supervision, and partner coordination. Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
