Job Description
The Program Assistant will support the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director in planning, coordinating, and executing various organizational programs and initiatives. The role involves assisting in project management, administrative support, and communication across departments. The Program Assistant will contribute to ensuring that projects are implemented effectively, stakeholders are engaged appropriately, and organizational goals are achieved efficiently. This role provides significant exposure to program development, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic communication within a faith-based humanitarian organization.

The Program Assistant will be involved in:

  • Coordinating daily operational and administrative tasks to support program delivery.
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Supporting documentation, reporting, and data management for ongoing programs.
  • Facilitating communication between departments, stakeholders, and partners to ensure seamless project implementation.
  • Supporting digital communication initiatives and online presence management, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Technology, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Previous experience working in the Catholic Church, faith-based institutions, or humanitarian organizations is highly preferred.
  • Experience in program support, project coordination, or administrative roles is desirable.
  • Exposure to multi-stakeholder projects and community engagement is a plus.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Native-level fluency in Amharic and professional-level English (written and spoken). Knowledge of Oromifa, Tigrigna, or Somali is a significant asset.
  • Proven knowledge of project management software, advanced Microsoft Office 365 applications, and digital communication tools.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.

Job Location
Addis Ababa, National Office. The role may occasionally require travel within the country for program-related activities.
