People in Need is a humanitarian and development organization operating in Ethiopia since 2003, delivering multi-sectoral projects in education, agriculture, climate and environment, water and social protection. The organization works across six regions and is part of Alliance 2015, a European NGO network focused on development and advocacy.
Contract Length: Definite until May 30, 2026
Place of Work: Shire, Tigray Region
Salary: 258 USD per month
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Receive and approve purchase requests and prepare requests for quotations.
• Collect and compile quotations, purchase orders and contracts.
• Conduct market assessments and support field logistics officers.
• Verify procurement requirements, specifications and track PR status.
• Coordinate with finance for timely supplier payment settlement.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of procurement documents.
• Provide feedback on supplier performance and conduct market surveys.
• Support field offices during procurement and coordinate with logistics on goods delivery.
• Maintain accessible procurement records for internal and external audits.
• Assess material availability for local purchases and provide price information.
• Perform other procurement-related tasks as needed.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure compliance with PIN standards.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Contract Management, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong coordination and confidentiality handling skills.
• Good command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Fluency in Amharic and English.
• Three strong references.
