Job Description
The Personal Assistant will support employees with disabilities to perform their roles effectively. This role ensures accessibility, inclusion, and smooth functioning in the workplace. Responsibilities include:

  • Filing, organizing, and managing paper documents.
  • Retrieving work materials that are physically out of reach.
  • Accompanying employees around the office and during workshops, meetings, or social events.
  • Providing travel assistance for fieldwork and other work-related travel.
  • Reading handwritten mail or hardcopy materials for employees with visual disabilities.
  • Acting as a sighted guide during events and assisting with seating arrangements.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as eating when needed.
  • Converting inaccessible texts into accessible formats.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned to support employees effectively.

Educational Qualification

  • BA or Diploma (Level IV Certificate) in any Social Science discipline.

Work Experience

  • BA degree: 0 years of experience required.
  • Diploma (Level IV Certificate): Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Personal Assistant, in secretarial services, or office management.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong commitment and willingness to work with persons with disabilities.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of Amharic and English; familiarity with other local languages is an advantage.
  • Teamwork, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and reliability.

Job Location
Office setting – Ethiopia (Hawassa or designated EHRC offices).

Employment Type and Salary

  • Six-month contract with possibility of extension.
  • Compensation details will be provided upon recruitment.
