Build a career with impact. The World Bank Group (WBG) and its private-sector arm, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), support development across emerging markets. IFC-Ethiopia is seeking an Operations Analyst to provide program management, business development, and analytical support for the Ethiopia Cluster (Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia). The position is based in Addis Ababa and reports to the Country Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support business development through desk research, market intelligence, data analysis, and preparation of reports and presentations.
Participate in diagnostic missions, review outputs, and assist in developing concept notes and implementation plans.
Provide analytical support on financial projections, meeting briefs, minutes, and high-level mission preparations.
Plan and coordinate workshops, trainings, and knowledge events.
Assist with internal project documentation and approval processes.
Support portfolio management by preparing supervision reports, tracking KPIs, and ensuring timely project updates.
Ensure high-quality data management, documentation, and contributions to donor reporting.
Support advisory activities, strategy building, and project coordination for the Ethiopia Cluster.
Provide technical and analytical support across country and industry teams, including due diligence and client deliverables.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Economics, or related fields.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Ethiopia in private sector, financial sector, development agencies, or consultancies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; strong report-writing skills.
Knowledge of Ethiopia’s economic, social, and political context.
Strong English language skills; additional local languages are an asset.
Experience with research tools such as Factiva, Bloomberg, EIU, WBG databases, and advanced online research.
