Monitoring and Evaluation Officer-1

Job Summary
World Vision is seeking qualified Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to support emergency food and cash assistance programs. The role includes leadership, capacity building, monitoring, reporting, and ensuring program accountability in assigned operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Building

  • Foster a collaborative team environment and mentor staff
  • Facilitate implementation of management decisions to meet quality standards
  • Create and communicate vision, motivate staff, and build strong relationships
  • Model high standards of personal integrity and servant leadership

Capacity Building

  • Support and mentor local institutions and smaller NGOs
  • Build capacity of field staff on MEAL tools and systems
  • Enhance partner skills in project and financial management

Resource Stewardship

  • Ensure efficient and effective use of resources
  • Adhere to internal controls and achieve satisfactory financial and operational audit results

Program Accountability and M&E Systems

  • Implement and maintain WFP M&E systems for cash and food assistance
  • Use M&E data to inform decision-making
  • Ensure accountability to affected populations and donors

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct regular monitoring according to project plans
  • Undertake surveys, evaluations, and prepare reports (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual)
  • Ensure reporting demonstrates program impact and organizational reputation

Learning and Documentation

  • Prepare success stories, reports, and presentations
  • Support assessments, studies, and learning initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • MA/MSc or BA/BSc Degree in Economics, Development Studies, M&E, Disaster Management, Rural Development, or related fields
  • 3–5 years of experience in food assistance, disaster mitigation, and development programs, with at least 2 years in a similar role

Preferred Experience & Competencies

  • Knowledge of emergency food resource management
  • Experience in grants/project management, cash transfer programming, and market assessment
  • Understanding of humanitarian standards and local context
  • INGO experience and ability to work in high-risk areas
  • Strong team-building and leadership skills
