Job Description
The Junior Procurement Officer plays a critical role in the logistical backbone of our pharmaceutical operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of purchase requests and the meticulous administration of import operations. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of medical supplies that our clients rely on daily.
One of your primary responsibilities will be the management of the Electronic Single Window (ESW) account. You will navigate this system to ensure that import operations are processed smoothly from inception to completion. This task requires a high level of accuracy and a deep understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing international trade in Ethiopia.
Furthermore, you will be tasked with the approval of foreign currency requests. This involves constant communication with various banking institutions to track the status of Performa Invoices. Your ability to follow up effectively and maintain professional relationships with financial partners will be a key driver of your success in this role.
Precision is paramount in this position. You will analyze Performa Invoices received from the Business Development and Finance departments to ensure they are correct and contain all necessary information. Identifying and correcting discrepancies early prevents delays in the supply chain and ensures the timely delivery of vital goods.
In addition to documentation, you will manage the insurance aspects of the procurement process. This includes preparing insurance for approved Performa Invoices with reputable insurance companies. You will also be responsible for designing and executing corrective action plans if any issues arise during the insurance or transportation phases.
